as kathleen hanna once said, "i believe in the radical possibilities of pleasure."
my professional life has mostly centered around human rights, publishing, and technology. i've also been active in the antiwar and anti-corporate-led globalization movements since the early '90s. most of my work has been with progressive organizations that espouse radical views like "healthcare is a universal human right" and quaint notions like "you're not allowed to torture people, even if you think they look like a terrorist." starting in 2002, i coordinated the Emergency Campaign on Iraq, which sought to highlight what we predicted would be the devastating human and ecological consequences of an invasion of Iraq. in 2006, i helped create Cultures of Resistance, an initiative that seeks creative ways to oppose war and promote peace, justice, and sustainability in the cultural domain, including film, music, and food.
last year I left my job doing philanthropic consulting to work full time advocating the impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney for their myriad crimes against people and the planet. i created the Impeach07 Coalition which brought together more than 100 groups like the Green Party, Code Pink, and the Center for Constitutional Rights to coordinate strategy on a national level for the first time. among other initiatives, i organized pro-impeachment actions in more than 125 different locations around the country on April 28, 2007.
in january 2008 i relocated from brooklyn, ny to san francisco to study fulltime for an mba in sustainable management at the presidio school of management. it's one of the best decisions i've ever made and i feel lucky to be part of such an amazing community.

Hey Jacob -- Soapnuts are truly amazing. They are 1.5 inch little dried fruits, and after you soak them in water overnight, you get an amazing all-purpose soap great for dishes, floors, laundry.
I got my first batch here, and they have the best price I've seen, and all profits go to humanitarian causes too:

Worth a try!
And, enjoying checking out all the cool stuff on the site!
Jacob - I'm told you came up with the name, Greenleaves -- great name! ...and also that you were much of the creative force behind the idea. My congratulations. I hope it grows and grows...
