I've lived in Washington DC for the past 9 years but just moved back to Wisconsin where I'm slowly adjusting to life in the country. Sure, I miss metros, trendy restaurants, and public transportation but I'm enjoying seeing the stars at night, seeing wild animals in their natural habitats, and eating only local foods.
Some Things I'm Trying to Do to Promote Sustainability:
My family owns a 12.5 acre property where we are planning a gigantic vegetable garden. We have pigs and chickens. We get eggs from "Eggy Von Eggerton" (I named him, because I'm not sure of his real name) down the road, bread from the local bakery. We recycle aluminum, plastic, cardboard, etc etc. We've got rain barrels and there is talk of a windmill. We'll see...
Interests:
I'm a graduate student so I spend a lot of time reading and writing.
Books:
Animal Vegetable Miracle is the last non-grad school book I've recently read

"Out of the country"...you are so fancy-schmancy! Yes, one of these years you have to make it to our extravaganza. Speaking of Theresa, one of these days you should ask her if she knows where Chicago is in relation to Wisconsin. I am a bit worried about her geography skills :)
